Lovely setting on the beach with the boats bobbing in Island Harbour.  Excellent, well-priced Carib-Italian food. Nice playlist for your dining pleasure.  Wonderful pasta arrabiata, caprese salad and fresh fish. Very pleasant and engaging staff.  Lunch & dinner.

Chef Dale Carty got his start in the kitchen at Malliouhana, under the tutelage of French Master chefs.  That influence is evident at his own restaurant, Tasty’s.  Coconut Crusted Fish and Curried Goat are two favorites. Lunch & Dinner, call for breakfast hours.

Gwen’s Reggae Grill Shoal Bay East, 583-2120
The best beach bar in the Caribbean. Need we say more!  The pasta salad and cole slaw are Gwen’s specialties, not to be missed.  Grilled chicken, ribs and fresh whole snapper in addition to burgers and salads round out the menu.  Gwen’s Rum Punch is the best – 16 whole big ounces – and it packs a “punch”…..yummmm!!!!  (Plus, she has the cutest bathrooms in the Caribbean.  Just sayin’)  Sunday afternoons feature The Scratch Band – scratchin’ local music along with Reggae standards.  The deck always jams with dancing and partying.  THE place to be for “Sunday Funday”!  Nice shaded deck, picnic tables with umbrellas, lounges & umbrellas for chillin’.

Everette’s Pelican Bar Island Harbour, on the beach.   Close to Almond Tree Villa

Open every day except Thursday for lunch & dinner.  Fresh fish, ribs (fall off the bone tender!), chicken and sides at reasonable prices.  Same with the drinks, which come with a healthy pour ;).  Be sure to try Everette’s rum punch – it’s a good one!  Good mix of expats, tourists and locals. THE spot to be for “sundowners” on Sunday late afternoon!  Friendly spot!

Open every day except Monday for lunch & dinner.  Fresh fish – grilled or fried wahoo, mahi & snapper.  Lobster, too, along with burgers, wings and ribs. Real, hand-cut fries too!  Food and drinks are at great prices.  It’s a toes-in-the-sand dining experience, with the lovely Ren as your hostess, and “Mut” tending bar.  This also serves a good mix of expats, tourists and locals – not to be missed!

Private island for a day – a must – open on Wednesdays and Sundays. Stand at the end of the dock in Island Harbour and they will send the boat over for you.  It’s best to make a reservation though, allowing them to adequately prepare.

You’ve got to visit this place -Bankie Banx Dune Preserve.  Home of the 2007 Jimmy Buffett Concert as well as the yearly music festival – Moonsplash – held every spring on the weekend of the full moon.  Built of old Anguillian racing boats and lots of flotsam and jetsam. Unique in many ways.  Attend Sunday afternoon “Sunday School” and enjoy the music of Bankie and visiting artists.
ROAD SIDE BBQ

You’ll see road side BBQ’s all over the island – usually on Friday & Saturday evenings.  Some may be in people’s yards, some may be in “the strip” in the center of town, The Valley, some along the road.  Stop and order and take back to The Crow’s Nest at the villa to enjoy.  You won’t regret it!  The closest one to Almond Tree belongs to “Paper” Vanterpool in East End, on the way to Island Harbour, across from the salt pond, just before Colville Petty’s Anguilla Heritage Museum.
